Description
The Department of Computer Science at The George Washington (GW) University in Washington, DC,
invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Computer Science to start as early as Fall
2026. We welcome applications from all areas of computer science; we particularly welcome those who
can add to and bridge our growing strengths in security/systems and AI/ML.
New faculty will join a vibrant department with a diverse faculty, housed in a building that fosters
interdisciplinary efforts across multiple fields. The university and department have a strong commitment
to recruiting faculty of the highest caliber who have thrived in different environments and would enrich
the university with different experiences and perspectives.

Requirements
By the date of appointment, applicants for the Assistant Professor of Computer Science position must
have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field. They must also have demonstrated
experience or potential for building a nationally recognized research program, mentoring graduate and
undergraduate students in research, and teaching across multiple topics in our undergraduate and graduate
Computer Science curriculum.
