The Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions at the Blacksburg, VA campus, with emphasis on AI, machine learning, NLP, and human-computer interaction. We seek candidates who are passionate about impactful research, innovative teaching, and building a strong academic community.

Requirements

- An earned doctoral degree in Computer Science or closely related field at the time of the appointment and a rank-appropriate record of scholarship and collaboration in computing research.

- Record of significant research accomplishments (e.g. publications) and rank-appropriate record of professional service.

- Ability to contribute to the department's teaching mission, at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

- Three separate written statements (up to 3 pages each):

(1) A research statement.

(2) A statement of teaching and mentoring philosophy.
