Responsibilities
The Academic Program Specialist works to counsel, recruit, and monitor undergraduate student progress, policy development, and implementation. This position will supervise the Academic Support Assistant and one OPS employee. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Tracking undergraduate students' progress enforcing limited access/limited enrollment policies.
- Conducting all undergraduate student orientation.
- Maintaining departmental student and alumni files in an up-to-date state.
- Administering questionnaires to all graduating students and maintains of the results of the exit questionnaire in detail and produces a summary.
- S erving as departmental liaison between companies/recruitment agencies and future graduates/potential employment recruits from the department.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience.
- Previous experience in student services.
- Knowledge in the higher education field to cultivate a learner-centered environment and to foster excellence.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Results-oriented and goals-driven.
- Skill in interviewing and counseling.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills; high degree of emotional intelligence.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate and updated records concerning student performance.
